SOMARI Universe

My name is Somari. I'm a Ukrainian artist based in Berlin, and for the past 8 years I've been building a world.

This is a story about how, in the distant future, in a parallel universe, plants have grown metal parts to survive the spread of technogenic civilization. Fermion — the city at its center — grows vertically and houses a society that controls more than it admits.

The questions underneath it are ones I keep returning to: what happens when civilization becomes so good at protecting itself from nature that it forgets it belongs to it? What is the difference between a living thing and an AI that perfectly imitates one? And what does it mean to exist in a system that was never designed with you in mind?

These ideas and characters appeared across murals, canvases, sculptures, and streets over the years — and from the very beginning, I knew they all belonged to the same place.

This universe has its own geography, inhabitants, rules, and contradictions. And a story with a town ...

... and a forest.

The main characters ...

 ... and the villains.

A city with a detailed infrastructure ...

... and everyday lives of the inhabitants.

The characters' secrets ...

... and the workings of the underground.

As well as their own calendar, planetary system, legends and customs, and much, much more.
